Through our continued efforts in providing food access since 2013, StarkFresh knows that hunger isn’t seasonal.
Location is everything.
Research convinced us to establish our grocery store in our Food Justice Campus on Cherry Avenue NE, in Canton, OH, due to its proximity to SARTA’s main bus terminal. (The terminal is two blocks away, or about a 10-minute round trip for pedestrians.)
More than 150,000 people use SARTA’s main bus terminal every month, and the neighborhood in which it is located has seen multiple grocery stores close in recent years.
By locating our grocery store there in October 2020, we introduced a new, pedestrian-friendly source for fresh, high-quality groceries in downtown Canton, OH.
The establishment of the StarkFresh Grocery Store within the Food Justice Campus has created several pathways for members of our community to transform their lives -- the most important of which is simply the access it provides to affordable food within a short walking distance to a major public transit hub and a half-dozen high-rise apartment complexes.
The StarkFresh Grocery Store accepts Cash, Debit, Credit, SNAP/EBT, and numerous other vouchers made possible with partnerships from area partners and donors.
When using an EBT card to shop, all fruits & vegetables are 50% off, every day, (good for fresh, frozen, canned, dried, frozen)
